This is an A1708 SSD Adapter. The A1708 SSD Adapter is compatible only with MacBook Pro Retina 13″-inch w/o Touch Bar models A1708(Late-2016 to Mid-2017). Replace your old or non-working or dead Proprietary SSD or Upgrade your Storage with this A1708 SSD Adapter. Please check the ‘Compatibility List’ against your MacBook Model No. before placing an order. The Compatibility List is provided in the images. Please Note: 1. Requires macOS 10.14 Mojave or Later versions of macOS. It is not compatible with earlier versions than macOS 10.14. Please use your original Apple Proprietary SSD to upgrade your macOS to Mojave before installing this A1708 SSD Adapter as the previous versions of macOS didn’t have the Firmware to recognize M.2 NVME SSD. 2. Support M.2 NVME/AHCI SSD only, 2230 and 2242 are only supported, and 2280 is not supported as the A1708 SSD Adapter is too small for 2280 M.2 NVME SSD. A1708 SSD Adapter is not compatible with 2280 M.2 NVME/AHCI SSD such as Samsung 960 EVO, Samsung 970 EVO/PRO, WD Black, Crucial P1, HP EX920, ADATA SX8200, Intel 600p series NVME SSD and so on (We are not sponsoring any of this). However, it is known that the A1708 SSD Adapter gives some trouble with certain models of M.2 NVME SSD. Either it will not install the macOS or it will give you Kernel Panics (MacBook will go on Hibernation or Shut Down unexpectedly). This is not the problem with the A1708 SSD Adapter, it is the problem with the M.2 NVME SSD. 3. There might be a problem with Internet Recovery (CMD+R), it is suggested to make a bootable pen drive of macOS before installing this A1708 SSD Adapter. 4. After installing the A1708 SSD Adapter, MacBook may go into Hibernation (in some cases), you need to turn it off manually using commands in the TERMINAL.

macOS 10.14(Mojave) or later is required to be pre-installed in the A1708 MacBook before installing this A1708 SSD Adapter, previous version of macOS didn’t have the required Firmware to recognize M.2 NVME SSD
Push the M.2 NVME SSD into the A1708 SSD Adapter and A1708 SSD Adapter into the slot (Proprietary SSD Port of the MacBook) and make sure that the cut at the rear of the M.2 NVME SSD is properly aligned with the screw port of the Proprietary SSD in the MacBook Motherboard
Replace or Upgrade your old or non-working Proprietary SSD with this A1708 SSD Adapter and enhance your storage with M.2 NVME SSD of your choice and storage capacity
External Power source or Additional Drivers are not required in installation of this A1708 SSD Adapter

There is no dissipation in Read & Write Speed of the NVME SSD that you will install with this A1708 SSD Adapter. The Adapter only changes the mapping of the NVME SSD and didn’t interfere with Read & Write Speed of the NVME SSD in any way
